
PROJECT MANAGER IN KANSAS CITY
OPEN OPPORTUNITY
SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with hands-on construction experience to support multiple phases of large, mixed-use residential tower projects in Kansas City. The ideal candidate will have a background in general contracting, construction management, owner's project management, and/or a past history in superintendent roles and must be comfortable managing both field coordination and project reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Construction Oversight & Coordination

Monitor and manage general contractor performance, schedule quality, and logistics

Conduct regular jobsite walks, identify field issues, and proactively manage resolutions

Review and validate construction progress for monthly pay applications

Schedule & Budget Management
-
Track construction schedules, flag risks and delays, and recommend mitigation strategies

Assist with monthly reporting and updates to internal and client teams

Review change orders, RFIs, and submittals for scope, cost, and constructability impacts

Stakeholder Communication & Documentation

Lead weekly OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings and track action items

Maintain updated project documentation including meeting minutes, field reports, and punch lists

Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and city officials

Quality Assurance & Closeout

Oversee mockup reviews and quality control milestones throughout construction

Help manage punch list walkthroughs and project closeout

Ensure that turnover documents, O&M manuals, and as-builts are delivered and complete

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of experience in construction management, general contracting, or as a superintendent

Strong understanding of construction documents, contracts, and field operations

Familiarity with mixed-use, multifamily, hotel and/or high-rise construction
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Bluebeam
-
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and civil drawings
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
